So, this morning I planned on giving a great detailed article over how to change system strings with pictures and everything but unfortunately, my iphone froze and I’m in the process of completely rebooting. However, I can still take you through the steps just without pictures. Sorry guys! This is the EASY WAY WITHOUT A COMPUTER!!!!
The system strings are the “Slide to Unlock” , “Slide to Cancel”, “Slide to do whatever else.” With the help of iFile (click to see info) and a Cydia app, you can now change the strings to say whatever you want i.e. “Welcome KC!”
Things you will need:
Cydia, iFile, Slide to Unlock Killer, Winterboard
First what you want to do is go into cydia and install iFile.
After installing that, add new source (http://cydia.touch-mania.com)
Then search for “Slide to Unlock Killer” and install that
Next, go back to your homescreen and click on iFile. Go into settings and turn on Hidden Files. Next to the very beginning of the folders and follow this: Var/Stash/Themes/EntriegelKiller
Once you’ve done this, choose your language (Most of you will click on “En”) Follow this after EntriegelKiller: Folders/Springboard/En.lproj/Springboard Strings
Once the page with text shows up this is where you will change your strings. You can kind of read through them to understand which ones are which. I do remember that the second one about user_lock or something is the “Slide to Unlock”
To edit these, click on edit in the top left and put your cursor in between the ” ” to the right of the strings you want to change.
After typing your text, delelte any spaces between the ” ” i.e “Welcome KC! “<<<–you would make it look like “Welcome KC!”
After you’ve changed all the strings that you want, click save.
Go into winterboard and turn on Entriegel Killer and let it refresh and now your system strings should be changed.

Doom is a one-person shooter game based off the old video game. As an army soldier, you’re exploring mars with oter soldiers, doctors, and scientists until an epidemic breaks out and kills some while turning others into flesh-eating, blood-sucking zombies. Sounds cool, right? Your goal is basically to get out alive without being attacked and turned into a zombie.
One cool feature of this game is that it gives you the option to save and quit to come back later and resume at the spot you stopped. So don’t worry about losing countless hours of winning if you need to pause for awhile. It also allows the player to calibrate the aim target so that your aiming will be on target no matter what angle you are holding your phone or ipod.

A little off the subject of an iphone but I thought this would make for a great article.
After my conversion from a blackberry curve to an iphone 3g, I have become a HUGE fan of apple. Unfortunately, I’m a broke college student and can’t afford a brand new mac at the moment so I did the next best thing….I made my PC look like a mac!
How did I do this you may ask? Well after playing around with a few sites and several downloads I discovered a way to make it look as close to a mac as possible. This will work for Windows XP as well as Vista. Follow the simple steps below to make your PC look like a mac.

Go here and download the latest version. Unzip it and then install and run it. I’d recommend creating a desktop shortcut for easy access.
After downloading it, the default places it at the top of the screen. If you right click and go to “screen position” you can place it on the bottom.
Next, go here and download the Leopard OSX wallpaper.
After step 3, right click on your taskbar and unlock it. Move the taskbar to the top of your screen and lock it back by repeating the right-click. Again, right-click and choose properties and make sure you check the box next to “Auto Hide.”
On your desktop, right-click on your original wallpaper and go into Properties>Desktop Tab and then click on browse and find the Leopard OSX wallpaper you just downloaded and make it your new wallpaper.
Return to your desktop and right-click once more and go to “Arrange Icons By” and click on “Hide Desktop Icons.” Your desktop should now look similar to this:

Next what you’re going to want to do is customize your dock. Right-click inside the dock and go to “Add item” and then choose file. You will take this step to add every item you want in your dock.
To choose what your icons look like, I recommend going to rocketdock.com and downloading one of the icon bundles.
You may also want to get some widgets for your desktop so go here and download Yahoo! widgets. Now you can choose which widgets you’d like to see on your desktop.

Hate missing calls or texts on your iphone because you couldn’t hear the low ring or chime? You need a VOLUME BOOST!
Volume Boost from ModMyi is a great tweak for your iphone or ipod touch to improve the volume quality. One huge fallback of the iphone is the low volume from the external speakers. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has missed text messages and phone calls because I was unable to hear the ring or text chime.
Luckily, the developers of Volume Boost have found a fix for this. To install Volume Boost go into cydia and make sure you have the modmyi source installed (http://apt.modmyi.com/) and be sure to have winterboard installed. Once you’ve added the ModMyi source, search for Volume Boost and install it. After you have installed volume boost, activate it by going into winterboard and turning it on. After the respring, volume boost will now be activated and you’re on your way to hearing better volume quality!
