I had recently begun to use AppSniper again, it tracks any app that goes on sale in the appstore, when I saw that Knights Onrush was on sale for 99 cents. I have at least 4 different castle defense games already, but this one i decided to buy since it was the only one that had been in the top ten paid apps list for this long.
From the start I could tell it was a good buy. It had what most apps are missing which is, believe it or not, a guide. What a lot of developers don’t get is that, even though some games are of the same genre, say castle defense, no two are completely the same. Sure, every castle defense game has purchasable upgrades. But, it would have taken me hours to understand that I HAD to sacrifice the little knights in order to buy stuff, and i couldn’t just mercilessly fling into the air. The guide also goes into detail on how to use every power up, There are about 12 of them, and tips on how to kill certain enemies in order to cause the most damage.
The actual gameplay is great as well. There are three modes: Campaign, Endless Siege, and Madness. The only difference between the three is that campaign give or takes from you certain advantages depending on the map, and that madness gives you a great gate from the start but starts at a much higher difficulty. The campaign is challenging and has plenty of levels. But after a while it gets frustrating because you end up having the buy EVERYTHING after you get used to having it from the start. One great thing about the game is the variety of enemies. They range from catapults to wizards who can cast protective shield onto themselves.
All In all Knights Onrush is a great game, and coming from Chilling its comes with no surprise. You will be playing this game for a month at least, and for 99 cents ( if still at that price) its an amazing buy
