In the middle of the night last night geohot released his jailbreaking tool blackra1n.  It is will jailbreak the iphone2g/3g/3gs and ipt1g/2g/3g.  The ipt3g jailbreak is tethered so you have to run blackra1n everytime you need to boot it.  From what I have read so far it seems that the ipt3g 8gb model doesn’t work.  If you are on a iphone3g/3gs and need to use ultrasn0w then don’t upgrade to 3.1.2 because you will lose you unlock forever.
