Brand NEW: You can now download this file which runs the terminal/command code for you and comes with the ipcc files. Download http://myurlz.com/mms1 and then you choose either the Mac or Windows Files. Unzip them, use winrar for windows to unzip, and then you have 2 folders. Click on the iPhone or executable file which runs the code in terminal or command. Its pretty obvious. The iPhone code extension is .app and the widows in .bat to recognize it. After, you run the code, open up itunes(make sure it is closed during this), plug your device in, and update to the ipcc file which you can download or it comes in the file you downloaded. Hope this helps. Comment if you need more help.
DOWNLOAD LINK for IPCC FILE USING FIREFOX!!!!!!(works on both Mac and Windows): http://myurlz.com/IPCC
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=32PSIL6U
Safari screws up the file structure of the ipcc file!
The first few steps are the same as before, we must enable IPCC updates in iTunes 8.2 (9.0 works too). Here are the instructions on how to get MMS on your iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3Gs. YOUR DEVICE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE JAILBROKEN!
From my research, this works on 3.0, 3.01, and 3.1
You have to run a command in Terminal(Mac) or the Command Console(Windows)
This allows you to update to the new IPCC file in iTunes which is very easy.
Mac OS X:
Close iTunes if it is open
Start Terminal (Applications > Utilities)
Run the following command: defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE
Windows 2000/XP/Vista (32-bit):
Go to Start -> Run (
type in “command” and hit enter
Type/copy+paste this into the command console that comes up: “C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
Hit enter
Windows XP/Vista (64-bit):
Go to Start -> Run (
type in “command” and hit enter
Type/copy+paste this into the command console that comes up: “C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
Hit enter
DIRECTIONS FOR EVERYONE(MAC and PC)
Download the file to some location on your computer
Plug in your iPhone
Start iTunes
Click on your iPhone in the device listing in iTunes
Alt(option)-Click the “Update” button (Shift-click in Windows)
Browse to where you saved the IPCC you downloaded
Select the file and click Choose (or OK on windows i think)
Once it updated, Reboot your iPhone
You should now have working MMS! Unlike previous hacks, this one should not disable your Visual Voicemail feature. Comment on the post if you are having trouble or on the YouTube video. Make sure to tweet about the article and video/tell your friends! Check out the other features of the site too! BOOKMARK if ya want

Is there any way to reverse this?
MMS works but it’s screwing up my VVM! Before doing this, I had tethering on using Ben.M’s method and my VVM worked just fine. After doing the mods for MMS, my VVM just stopped working. Now i have to choose between tethering or knowing when someone leaves me a voice message!!
Help!!

It hangs on me still after i typed in wap.cingular anybody know what to do
September 20th, 2009 at 9:31 PM
Does this hack work on iphone 1G (1st generation iphone)?
September 21st, 2009 at 2:34 AM
If you can not see the ipcc it is because the ASR – ipccEnabler did not work. Apple disabled the ability to see ipcc files in iTunes release 8.2 to current 9.0. So… if you can not see the ipcc file this explains why. If you can find a copy of iTunes 8.2 BETA it will show up there. Maybe this will explain why some of you can not see the file.

mine works perfect and i live in virginia. when its on wifi it doesn't send but i receive mms hours later. when wifi is off it works perfectly.
September 23rd, 2009 at 11:29 PM
OK here is what you do,hit CTRL+Shift+ESC and make sure anything that says iTunes in the Processes isn't running and that your iPhone isn't pluged in. IF YOU DON'T IT WON'T WORK!
Now, in Vista or Windows 7 go to start in the search type in CMD, right click the icon and run as administrator. When you do it will go from C:usersyourname to C:WindowsSystem32.
Type in this with quotations "%ProgramFiles%iTunesiTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
OR for 64 bit users
Type in "%ProgramFiles(x86)%iTunesiTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
Hit enter and you are DONE!

Thanks alot it worked, but I did have to add wap.cingular to the MMS APN
September 26th, 2009 at 1:31 AM
Works fine. You just have to run the app that comes bundled with it to allow iTunes to use ipcc files. Pretty simple.
September 26th, 2009 at 2:31 AM

When I attempt to enter "%ProgramFiles%iTunesiTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 into my command prompt, I receive a message stating that 'C:Program' is not recognized as a internal or external command, operable program, or batch file.
Any help with this? I'm running on a Windows Vista 32 bit.
September 26th, 2009 at 5:18 PM
When I attempt to enter "%ProgramFiles%iTunesiTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 into my command prompt, I receive a message stating that 'C:Program' is not recognized as a internal or external command, operable program, or batch file.
Also I am on a 1g phone.
September 27th, 2009 at 7:05 AM
I’ve applied the above, and while it did activate the camera icon in Messages, it doesn’t seem to work. I am not using AT&T, so does that matter? Where can we get a non-AT&T ipcc file, for those of us who are not on AT&T network (actually in another country all-together)?
September 28th, 2009 at 9:10 PM
Firefox doesn't start the download. The text is just shown in the window…:-(
September 29th, 2009 at 1:02 AM
i doubt anyone is ever gonna reply to this im on iphone 2g and did the installation perfect!!! but when i click shift update and click the file ipcc or whatever the hell it is it doesn't load all the way it just closes so i dont know if it works or not???
September 30th, 2009 at 5:47 PM
I have an iPhone 2G. Downloaded the file using Firefox, did the Terminal modification and updated the Carrier File in iTunes. After rebooting the iPhone, the camera icon does not appear next to message text box. Any suggestions?
September 30th, 2009 at 6:28 PM
Me too. I'm also on the 2G (Running 3.1 and iTunes 9). I don't get the camera icon to the left of the message text box, so you know it's not working. If you update the carrier settings when you connect to iTunes after you do this process, you loose the Cellular Data option under Settings/General/Network.
October 1st, 2009 at 2:35 PM
It did not work for me. I'm have the original iPhone running 3.1 firmware and iTunes 9. The phone is not jailbroken and with AT&T.
October 2nd, 2009 at 10:17 PM
Mine did that too and I restarted the iphone and it worked fine after that
October 4th, 2009 at 12:03 PM
I've had MMS since 3.0 came out, its been enabled ever since by itself.
October 4th, 2009 at 9:44 AM
I’m having the same problem with the command prompt.I receive a message stating that ‘C:Program’ is not recognized as a internal or external command, operable program, or batch file. I have vista 32 bit
October 4th, 2009 at 9:48 AM
I also have a netbook with windows xp if that would make it easier. But both get the same message stating that ‘C:Program’ is not recognized as a internal or external command, operable program, or batch file.
October 5th, 2009 at 1:53 AM
I followed the instructions and everything worked PERFECTLY for me. I have an iPhone 3G running on the 3.0.1 firmware and it is jailbroken. It took a total of about 15 seconds and my MMS is working without a hitch…..thanks so much!!!
October 7th, 2009 at 4:13 PM
if the command isn't working for you, try doing cd "C:Program Files (x86)iTunes" so that you get into the directory, then run the rest of the commend iTunes.exe /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
October 9th, 2009 at 3:03 AM
I followed all your steps and does not work. I even lost the camera icon which I use to have.
October 13th, 2009 at 7:01 AM
worked like a charm… this is so clutch… now i dont have to upgrade to 3.1 and rehack
October 16th, 2009 at 3:13 AM
id try going into your message setting and chose the enable mms option… see what this does and then comment back
October 29th, 2009 at 6:23 AM
