MeetMe for the iphone and ipod touch “don’t know where to meet? “You do now”
I would first like to say to alexosh that this is worahcbarrette’s article but i had to post it before him because he hasn’t been upgraded to writer yet, so he asks that if you get a chance would you mind upgrading him. Thanks. Now on with the show.
MeetMe for the iPhone and iPod Touch is a simple yet elegant application that combines the iphones gps and google maps information with data from sights like yelp to help you find the perfect place to meet. You can use the gps to find your location, or by tying it in. Then you can find your friends by typing it in or selecting it from your contacts. Then MeetMe will help you find your perfect place through a system of sections such as food, nightlife, or entertainment. Then after you find the section it will load a list of restaurants through yelp.com that will give you all the information you need. But what if you wanted to meet closer to your friend’s house? MeetMe makes that easy through a slider at the bottom you can slide the point close to your point a location or your point b location and MeetMe will determine what restaurants are close to that point. So after you pick you location to meet you have the ability to some of the following: call and make reservations, get directions, read yelp reviews, and send an email with all the information about the place and a link to get directions.
I give this application a 10 out of 10, because it does everything that you expect it to do and more, it has some limits in smaller areas because it does rely on yelp.com to provide the information on the restaurants, but I hop to see the addition of other sources in the future. MeetMe is $1.99 in the app store and I really recommend it to anyone that wants a good source for finding the perfect location to meet.
