The 3.0 jailbreak is out and running for all devices. The program that you would use is called redsnOw. The link to download is here:

Here are the simple 8 steps:
1. First, download redsnOw from the link above.
2.Unzip the file and open it up.
3. Click on the redsnOw folder. Then, click on the redsnOw folder to the right. Sorry Mac users, but this link is only for Windows.
4. Then click on redsnOw.exe.
5. Choose the correct firmware for your iPod Touch 1g/2g / iPhone 1g/3g/3gs. Here is how to do it. Use the links below to download the correct firmware to your desktop so it’s easy to find.

6. After you have downloaded that, click browse. Click on the desktop and click the firmware that you just downloaded. It should reconize the IPSW file and then you click “next”.
7. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT INSTALL CYDIA IS CHECKED!!! That is the whole reason that you are jailbreaking. Then click next
8. Shut off your device and get ready. As soon as you click “next”, you have to immediately hold down the power button for 3 seconds, power and home for 10 seconds, and then the home until the next screen pops up or you hear that noise that says something has been connected. This will be different for the iPhone 3GS.
9. YOU ARE DONE!!!
NOTE: This jailbreak does not require you to shift-restore your iPod/iPhone.

where it says ipod 1st gen it says it is forbiden
Neither of the ipod touch firmwares work.
i did this to my touch 2g. loving it so far. will buy an iphone just because of this when my current contract is up.

hey its just to put a other tutorial:
step 1
go to http://www.blackra1n.com
click on mac or windows
step 2
launch blackra1n and click on make it ra1n with you ipod / iphone connected to itunes
step 3
itunes will say that your ipod is in restauration click ok
after wait like 3 minutes
the ipod will reboot
you will have a new app : blackra1n
step 4
go on the app and instal cydia
open cydia and a a new surce in the 4th tab
put : http://cydia.hackulo.us
then download appsync
step 5
restart your ipod and finished its jailbreaked
now all you need to do is find files on internet that are in .ipa
when you have the game just drag it in the application tab of itunes
and its finished!!!!!

Ok so ive tried this 20 times in the past 24 hours and it has not worked. Ive tried botht the shift-restore and the non shift-restore method. my ipod touch is version 3.0 i deleted the jailbreak before upgrading to 3.0 and still i cannot do it every time it just goes back to normal…please help!
