DiskAid- SSH Non-Jailbroken and Without Wifi!

Posted on 20 July 2009 by Jarrettmonty

diskaidDiskAid is pretty much a solution to no wifi (and non jailbroken iPhones and iPods) to SSH for free! You just have to plug in your device and when it recognizes it, just SSH away! You first have to select where you would like to view though (Root Folder).
It is also an easy and great way to transfer songs and other files from your device to your computer! Just pick how you want to view (DiskAid Folder) and your off!

It is available for Mac & PC Users also. There is a free and paid versions. So go ahead and try the free versions as long as you want, until you decide which version to pick! Also check out their other software!

Question: Which SSH program are you going to use? CyberDuck, WinSCP, DiskAid, or Other?!!

Here is the Link!

Rocketdock: Make your PC look like a Mac!

Posted on 17 July 2009 by KC

A little off the subject of an iphone but I thought this would make for a great article.

After my conversion from a blackberry curve to an iphone 3g, I have become a HUGE fan of apple. Unfortunately, I’m a broke college student and can’t afford a brand new mac at the moment so I did the next best thing….I made my PC look like a mac!

How did I do this you may ask? Well after playing around with a few sites and several downloads I discovered a way to make it look as close to a mac as possible. This will work for Windows XP as well as Vista. Follow the simple steps below to make your PC look like a mac.

KC's mini comp

Screenshot of my mini laptop running XP

  1. Go here and download the latest version. Unzip it and then install and run it. I’d recommend creating a desktop shortcut for easy access.
  2. After downloading it, the default places it at the top of the screen. If you right click and go to “screen position” you can place it on the bottom.
  3. Next, go here and download the Leopard OSX wallpaper.
  4. After step 3, right click on your taskbar and unlock it. Move the taskbar to the top of your screen and lock it back by repeating the right-click. Again, right-click and choose properties and make sure you check the box next to “Auto Hide.”
  5. On your desktop, right-click on your original wallpaper and go into Properties>Desktop Tab and then click on browse and find the Leopard OSX wallpaper you just downloaded and make it your new wallpaper.
  6. Return to your desktop and right-click once more and go to “Arrange Icons By” and click on “Hide Desktop Icons.” Your desktop should now look similar to this:

    My desktop

    My desktop

  7. Next what you’re going to want to do is customize your dock. Right-click inside the dock and go to “Add item” and then choose file. You will take this step to add every item you want in your dock.
  8. To choose what your icons look like, I recommend going to rocketdock.com and downloading one of the icon bundles.
  9. You may also want to get some widgets for your desktop so go here and download Yahoo! widgets. Now you can choose which widgets you’d like to see on your desktop.

It’s as simple as that guys! If you have any questions, leave it in the comments and I’ll be sure to get back with you as soon as I can. Have fun customizing your new Mac/PC!

iPod Touch 3.0 Jailbreak Tutorial

Posted on 16 July 2009 by CodenameJJT

The 3.0 jailbreak is out and running for all devices. The program that you would use is called redsnOw. The link to download is here:

Windows: http://www.arieder.net/Uploads/redsn0w-win_0.8.zip

Mac: http://www.arieder.net/Uploads/redsn0w-mac_0.8.zip

Here are the simple 8 steps:

1. First, download redsnOw from the link above.

2.Unzip the file and open it up.

3. Click on the redsnOw folder. Then, click on the redsnOw folder to the right. Sorry Mac users, but this link is only for Windows.

4. Then click on redsnOw.exe.

5. Choose the correct firmware for your iPod Touch 1g/2g / iPhone 1g/3g/3gs. Here is how to do it. Use the links below to download the correct firmware to your desktop so it’s easy to find.

iPod Touch 1g: http://depositfiles.com/en/files/dimal73rj

iPod Touch 2g: http://depositfiles.com/en/files/5z24dyk1t

iPhone 1g: http://bit.ly/8FRHd

iPhone 3g: http://bit.ly/T7iAa

iPhone 3gs: http://bit.ly/187Lcn

(Links courtesy of tysiphonehelp/bbsipodtouchhelp)

6. After you have downloaded that, click browse. Click on the desktop and click the firmware that you just downloaded. It should reconize the IPSW file and then you click “next”.

7. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT INSTALL CYDIA IS CHECKED!!! That is the whole reason that you are jailbreaking. Then click next

8. Shut off your device and get ready. As soon as you click “next”, you have to immediately hold down the power button for 3 seconds, power and home for 10 seconds, and then the home until the next screen pops up or you hear that noise that says something has been connected.  This will be different for the iPhone 3GS.

9. YOU ARE DONE!!!

NOTE: This jailbreak does not require you to shift-restore your iPod/iPhone.
