Hey guys, Jake here from TheJailbreakNation. Before you read this post, please consider SUBSCRIBING TO MY CHANNEL. I have videos up every couple of days, on cydia, tweaks, mods, themes, apps and everything to do with jailbreaking. Thankyou guys, and please SUBSCRIBE

Rock Your Phone are positioning themselves as a complete jailbroken package management solution, from paid to free packages. They actually list all packages from all default Cydia sources.

Opening up the main screen of Rock shows a “Rock compared to Cydia/Icy” (picture below) screen, which lists some of its big differences with the two other players in the jailbreak package management arena. Speed-wise, RockApp has done some awsome things to increase performance.

The reason Rock is so fast is that their servers watch the default repositories Packages files, and keep a current combined list at all times. Then, when you open RockApp to check for updates, instead of checking each repo’s Packages file for updates, Rock Central is checked to see what updates are new since the last time you updated, and only those changes are downloaded to your idevice. This makes Rock so much faster than all the other competitors (being cydia and icy).

Another amazing feature is called, simply “Backup”. Backup, every time you install a new package, or even open up the app, it makes a log, of every installed package on you device. This is put onto a database, with your “rock id” (email adress). So this means, that if you have to re-jailbreak, or lose all your packages for some reason, you can just press restore form backup, and Rock will re-install EVERYTHING.

You can also add custom repos, just like you would in cydia, you can add all the best repost like sinful and touch-mania! This puts it a notch above the rest, being faster, better looking, provides a backup option, and an overall much easier experience, i vote Rock one of the best things out there jailbreaking wise.

Heres the video

Thanks For Watching guys, dont forget to SUBSCRIBE TO THEJAILBREAKNATION, all feedback is appreciated!

So, this morning I planned on giving a great detailed article over how to change system strings with pictures and everything but unfortunately, my iphone froze and I’m in the process of completely rebooting.  However, I can still take you through the steps just without pictures. Sorry guys! This is the EASY WAY WITHOUT A COMPUTER!!!!

The system strings are the “Slide to Unlock” , “Slide to Cancel”, “Slide to do whatever else.” With the help of iFile (click to see info) and a Cydia app, you can now change the strings to say whatever you want i.e. “Welcome KC!”

Things you will need:

Cydia, iFile, Slide to Unlock Killer, Winterboard

  1. First what you want to do is go into cydia and install iFile.
  2. After installing that, add new source (http://cydia.touch-mania.com)
  3. Then search for “Slide to Unlock Killer” and install that
  4. Next, go back to your homescreen and click on iFile. Go into settings and turn on Hidden Files. Next to the very beginning of the folders and follow this: Var/Stash/Themes/EntriegelKiller
  5. Once you’ve done this, choose your language (Most of you will click on “En”) Follow this after EntriegelKiller: Folders/Springboard/En.lproj/Springboard Strings
  6. Once the page with text shows up this is where you will change your strings. You can kind of read through them to understand which ones are which. I do remember that the second one about user_lock or something is the “Slide to Unlock”
  7. To edit these, click on edit in the top left and put your cursor in between the ” ” to the right of the strings you want to change.
  8. After typing your text, delelte any spaces between the ” ” i.e “Welcome KC!       “<<<–you would make it look like “Welcome KC!”
  9. After you’ve changed all the strings that you want, click save.
  10. Go into winterboard and turn on Entriegel Killer and let it refresh and now your system strings should be changed.

Any questions or comments, leave in the comments section!

I think we crashed the server. Download this file and then send it to yourself in an email and follow the same steps! Click this link and it will download directly into a zip folder.custom password Extract it and then save on your computer. Then send it yo your email and follow the steps below

Make sure you can access this email account from your device.
photo

2nd. Click on the file that was sent to you

photo 2

3rd. (Shown Above) You can now enter in your password, make sure to at least use 1 number, BUT you can use letters woot!

Example: photo3No I do not have to make emergency calls. Once I start typing, “Cancel” turns to “OK”.

4th. Click Done and you will be finished. To enable a password if you want one for security purposes, or so your friend doesn’t “snoop” around, go into Settings—> General—> Passcode, and enable it.

If you want to remove it, go to Settings and scroll down to the bottom, where it will say Profiles. Click on that, then click on “Custom Passcode” and you can click the red button that says remove.

I hope you liked this tutorial, make sure to sign up on the forum, and tell others about the new website, iPhoneXpert.com!
